Watering Sod

Updated: Aug 4, 2021

Watering new sod in Arizona requires a few tips and tricks to keeping your lawn vigorous and healthy.

The Arizona heat is hot, especially during the summer season.

Unless you're installing new sod or overseeding with winter grass, it's best to water your already-established sod grass in the early morning or evening to avoid evaporation.

Establishing new sod in Arizona is challenging because the Arizonian heat will likely dry out your sod, causing severe stress and damage to your grass.

It's vital to water your new sod several times per day until your lawn is ingrained. Your lawn should be well-established after about 3 weeks, allowing you to reduce your watering to once per day in the evenings.
